Our chickens lead a happy, natural and free-range life.
Our chickens enjoy rotational grazing in four fields, which are managed with biodynamic and permaculture principles. These forage fields are planted up specifically for their culinary and medicinal needs.
The chickens are moved on to a new field as soon as soil analysis indicates that the current one needs rejuvenation. Then the old field is replanted and given a chance to recover from the chicken’s destructive ‘gardening’ methods.
Our chickens are fed grain, whey, cheese and kitchen scraps daily.
We value the tradition of growing vegetables and fruits
Camphill Farm Community was founded in 1978 and the land has been managed on organic and biodynamic principles since.
